Creative Unit:

Symmetrical Patterns:

Vertical Strips:

Circle Rotations:

Hand Color:

Image Overlays with Text:

Texture Screen:
Halftone Screen:

I really liked this unit! Taking the pictures felt a lot easier and more fun because it was not showing a specific technique but more what we felt looked best. I wish I could have had more time to learn how to do these things and play around a little more with it. My favorite picture is the image overlay because I'm really proud of it and it means a lot to me. My least favorite one was probably the circle rotation. I just thought it was weird. But I liked doing the rest and I feel like I  an use photoshop a lot better.

Chrono:

I did not like the chrono as much as I thought I would. I thought it was kind of boring. I think it's a neat idea but not something I like to do. I guess I like more of the realistic photos and I didn't like to have to do all the layering and it just got really confusing. But I do think ours came out really well even with all the overlap .

Motion Final:

Zooming

Blurred
Frozen Motion

Panning

Writing with Light
I really enjoyed this unit and learning all the different ways to capture motion. I'm happy with the way the frozen motion and blurred motion pictures came out the most. I think they look nice and have a good use of the technique. The panning and writing with light pictures I'm not especially proud of, I personally would not have used these pictures but the other members in my group liked them so those are the ones we used. For the writing with light picture I would have used a specific object or even person and used the light around it/them instead of just writing something and it having no real purpose. The panning picture I think could have been more clear and used with better lighting. We had a hard time with the concept and getting the one aspect clear. I do however like our zooming picture I think it came out really cool and shows how zooming can be used in unique ways. Overall I really liked this unit and I learned some new ways to capture a subject that I'll defiantly use again.

Writing with Light Group Experiment:

Group Members: Caroline Fulton and Emily Kalinay

I really liked doing this project! I thought it was really cool! I liked not knowing exactly how the pictures looked until after they were taken. And I'd like to keep trying it until I can do it really well. Next time I'll set my shutter speed to a higher and go on a black background instead of all white except for my last one.

Lighting Final

Existing

Natural Lighting

Natural Lighting
Artificial

Natural Lighting

I chose my brother for the project as one of the most important people in my life. We fight a lot and I mean A LOT but we are extremely close. We have been through a lot together with my parents getting a divorce and a whole bunch of other stuff in between then in now. I would do anything for him and he knows that. We rely on each other even if we don't tell each other exactly whats happening we are still there and support each other. The pictures of my brother in the natural light I think especially show his all the sides of his personality. The picture of him sitting on the bench and his facial expression is exactly the face he makes when he gets mad. The picture of Andrew on his bike is a prop I really liked in his picture because we all used to ride bikes in our neighborhood that's how we would all get to each others houses and stuff. Also he's wearing shorts and that's important to his picture because he hates to wear long pants and shorts are his favorite thing to wear. I love the picture of Andrew smiling sitting on the steps. I think he looks really happy and that was a genuine smile and we were just goofing off while I was taking it and thats how it happened, and I'm really happy with how it came out. It captured a moment and you don't see that smile very often. The artificial picture really showed how he can be serious and I think the lighting just gives like an intelligent feeling and he is really smart. The existing light picture is Andrew wearing one of his favorite shirts. We get Hershey Park season passes so we are there quite often and he loves to be there the most. Also when my brother gets really excited he makes the expression and puts his arm up like that so I thought that was a good thing to incorporate into his picture. All of these pictures have a different side of Andrew and I'm just really happy I got to capture them all. I really liked this photography unit, and I learned a lot from it. I think the lighting is very very important to the picture and sets the feeling of the photo and also just the quality. I never really thought about lighting until this unit. I knew it was important but I did't think it was as important as it is and I'm really happy we did this unit so now I know.

Shape

Solid

Pattern
Gradient
I really liked doing the silhouettes like this. I honestly didn't think I would because I like things to look more realistic but I really did like it. I thought the layers were really cool and different. I thought photoshop had a lot to ofter in the backgrounds too and the way you could make it your own and customize it to what you want. My least favorite one was the pattern. I really did not like that one but the rest I loved. I thought they were all cool and it was easy to do too once I first figured out how to do it. I think the pictures came out really well and I'm actually really proud of them.

In the beginning of this project I honestly didn't know what all to do with light. I knew a little but I didn't really know what what all you could do and how it could change your picture so much. I really liked this unit because you get to try a bunch of different things. I really liked my natural light pictures and I like to take pictures outside anyways so it worked out well. Over all I'm pretty happy with how well this all turned out.

Final Project Composition:

If I had to name this collage I'd call it My School Life. This collage is very much what people see on the outside of me at school. I used framing with the picture of my closest and I took this picture because, every night before I go to bed I pick out what I'm going to wear for school tomorrow. And even though I pick an outfit out the night before I'll most likely change it the next morning because I want them to look just right for school. Not to be vain and only think about my clothes but I want people to get the right impression of me so I completely over think it.The picture of the stop sign I used birds eye view and this is how I start out my day everyday, I stand there and wait for my 45 min. bus ride so thats about 2 hours of my day that starts and ends with that stop sign. The middle picture I used movement. I took my picture like this first because I thought it looked really cool but also I walk all over this school everyday and there are SO many people and it all becomes such a blur to me. I could walk past someone everyday for an entire school year and not even recognize them in any other place. I took a texture picture of my locker because because it's where I am during most times of the day and it's where all my stuff at school is. Lastly, I took a picture of my folders and papers because after 8 hours of school, I go home to do homework. And homework is my least favorite thing (as it probably is for most) and I dread it every night. But I still do it and hate every moment of it.

This collage is more about me at home and the things most people don't see. The top left picture of the steering wheel I used curved lines. I got my permit in October and I take my test for my lenience in April and I can absolutely not wait! All I want to do is be able to drive where ever I want whenever I want and not have to ask my mom or dad to take me anywhere and then wait for them to be able to take me. So I drive and practice all the time so I can defiantly pass my first try in April. The top right picture I used a vertical line. When I don't feel good or am just really tired I love to drink tea. It just makes me feel so much better and I make sure we always have some in the house so it's kinda a big deal to me! The leading lines of the bricks are bricks on my house. I have never moved and so this house has always been my house and I don't know what it's like not to see those bricks just about everyday. The middle right picture of unity is things that I do whenever I don't have stupid homework. I, like most teenagers that love Netflix, my phone, and music so I thought it was only right to add it in a collage about my life. The bottom picture is my emphasis picture of my friend. I'm with my friends a lot and they mean a lot to me. I'm always either talking to them or with them so I definitely wanted to include a friend aspect in this, and only one was willing to let me take her picture.

Final Project Composition Proposal:

Shot 1: The stop sign at my bus stop is where I stand every morning waiting for the bus stop. I'll use diagonal lines for this shot.
Shot 2: I want to take a picture of the hallway in and have the foreground blurred and the background clear because in the morning when I get to school I'm always really tired and everything is kind of a blur, you could say haha. I could use emphasis for this shot.
Shot 3: My locker is a place I'm at a lot of my day. And so I think it's necessary to have it in photos to represent my day. I thought texture would be a cool use for this.
Shot 4: My house is brick and has really cool lines I think so I like those for leading lines.
Shot 5: Once I get home fro school I always like to get my laptop out and watch Netflix and text for  a little and putting all the things I like to do right when I get home from school would be nice unity.
Shot 6: I just got my permit in October so driving is something I like to do a lot now. The steering wheel makes for nice curved lines.
Shot 7: I love to shop and to put outfits together for school the night before and I thought it would be cool to frame the inside of my closest with a hanger.
Shot 8: Tea is something I drink all the time and the little string that hangs off the tea bag is a cool vertical line.
Shot 9:The hallway is always so crowed and our school is filled with so many different types of people and its something I always notice walking through the hall and a long exposure on the hallway while people are going to class would be a really cool way to show movement.
Shot 10: Homework is apart of my life everyday, and I never want to do it so a asymmetrical balance on how much I'm willing to do and how much I have to do would be cool.
